Tube-dwelling Stentors

Stentors are single-cell ciliates that have the appearance of a trumpet’s bell. Until now, all of the Stentors I have seen live in the open, either attached to substrate or free swimming. In my new pondwater aquarium I find dozens of tube-dwelling Stentors. Apparently there are several species that build and live inside tubes. This video is a collection of tube-dwelling Stentors.
